FROM THE GROUND DOWN, WE'RE YOUR SPECIALISTS!

CATCH BASIN CLEANING

The first line of defense to protecting our environment

The sole function of a catch basin or storm drain is to collect water from the surrounding area and transport it to local waterways through a system of underground piping. When water runs off streets and surrounding areas, it washes anything along the way with it into the catch basin.  Think of it like a vacuum cleaner bag… but wet!

What’s not so great, is over time all kinds of debris; soil, oils, contamination, leaves, etc, will settle into the catch basin and build up. Over time (2-24 months depending on the area) if the catch basin is not maintained, it will rise to the level of the pipes that transport the water, and thus with it, all of the debris.  This overloaded condition will send all the debris into our streams and ultimately our oceans. Often times a catch basin can look not full, when if fact it is sending debris out into the pipes. Thus, educated monitoring becomes very critical. So yes, if you like to catch fish, or eat it, or even just like clean waterways, the best way to help keep a “CLEAN” habitat is to allow us to “CLEAN” your catch basins.

To prevent these issues, a visual inspection should be performed twice a year. We can do this monitoring for you or simply have you on a reoccurring schedule.  No need to think about it!  Let us put you on autopilot and we can take care of what needs to be done. We can work with local municipalities to ensure you meet or exceed their requirements, allowing you to tend to your business.
